MS Last state to repeal prohibition (1966)

Even after the repeal of Prohibition, some states continued to enforce their prohibition laws. Mississippi, dry since 1907, was the last state to repeal Prohibition in 1966. There are still many "dry" counties and towns today where no liquor is sold. Today, half of Mississippi's counties are still dry. In fact, a survey conducted by the National Alcoholic Beverage Control Association in 2004 concluded that more than 500 municipalities in the country are still dry.
